We are off to vacation this Friday!
Woo hoo!!
For a while we had been wanting to plan a trip...
We talked about Europe (of course, who doesn't talk about Europe)
Then, Boston and Texas and Colorado and Montana.
Pretty much talking about the entire US..
Then decided on a road trip.
But it's actually not REALLY a road trip because we are only driving a couple hours at a time...
We are headed to Jackson Hole, Wyoming!
I am so so excited...
This is what I imagine seeing..
Then we head to Yellowstone where I plan on taking a million pictures.
Neither of us have ever been so I am sure it will be an experience to remember..
I am hoping something like this does not happen.

I have been hearing that though things start closing down around this time of year...(i.e horseback riding...darn.) it is a beautiful time to go...
And there are a lot less crowds than in the Summer.
I have been following this blog called The Egg
which is awesome...especially if you are about to be visiting Jackson Hole and want to get an idea of the town, places to eat, shop, explore.
After Yellowstone we end our trip in Bozeman, Montana.
I can't wait to be in a totally different environment and climate for that matter!
Time to get my winter gear out.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Girls Weekend
This past weekend, 3 of my best friends came up to visit.
We had such a fun weekend catching up, galavanting around town
and talking wedding talk for my newly engaged friend:)
(And not to mention  it was the perfect excuse to clean and get the house in order!)
We made a delicious dinner Saturday night...
Pesto risotto with leeks and Italian chicken sausage.
It was great!
The pesto was made using kale, basil and slivered almonds.
A couple pinches of salt and pepper, the juice of half a lemon
and about 1/2-3/4 cup olive oil..
(depending on the thickness you want and the amount you are trying to make)
I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends!
Hope you all have a great week!

Fall Garden
I love fresh flowers.
In the house, on the porch.. Wherever I can fit them.
But the ones on the porch always seem to die so quickly..
(I'm still working on my green thumb)
We get so much heat since its on the second level...
( I think that's why... maybe the fact that our porch is upstairs has nothing to do with it!)
Anyways... I either forget to water, or worse,
we leave for a weekend and come back to dead flowers
Everytime I replant them Brian gives me that look of really?? Knowing that it'll probably be a couple weeks (if i'm lucky) before I am wanting to replant them
SO, as I go get new flowers to plant before some of my friends come up for the weekend, I'm hoping to find some flowers that can stand the heat!!
and not be so darn needy!
I'm looking for fall-ish flowers that still have some color.
Ones that don't scream, "I am for fall only."
Something that'll match pumpkins but aren't too bright.
These are some that I love!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

In the Garden with me!
Aprons are not just for cooking away in the kitchen.
They're perfect for gardening too!
Our garden is growing out of control...
I need to get out there more to weed and clear things out
but for now...
I go out to pick what I want
I was thrilled to finally pick our first heirloom tomato!
I will be updating my website soon with all current and new aprons.
My aprons are now all 100% linen and lined with bleached muslin.
Start shopping for the holidays early!
It is hard to believe it has already been 12 years since 9/11
Thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by this tragedy.

Happy Friday!

I wanted to share a really cool e-course I just signed up for...
Last year I did the Creatively Made Home e-course and it was so. much. fun.
The videos are filled with ideas and are really inspiring.
This course starts October 15th.
It's cool because you realize there are sooo many people
out there with that same urge to create and entertain.
So check it out.
You can watch the videos on your own time and you
have them for a full year to look back on.
I still go back and use many recipes from the course last year.
I hope everyone has a great weekend !
