Smoothie Recipes

I love smoothies. In high school we would always go to 

Emerald City Smoothie sometimes before school, at lunch, or after school. 

They were simply the best!

{I now have a craving for one because it has been so long}

In college, it was all about Blenders in the Grass

There was one exactly 2 miles from school.

My friends and I would run there, get a smoothie and take a shuttle back. 

It was delightful. And every time I go back to Santa Barbara it is on my list of places to go.

Now days I make them myself.

And they're just as tasty....

{okay maybe not JUST as tasty but still pretty darn good

without adding ice-cream or sherbet.}

Here are 3 yummy smoothie recipes...

{without measurements because it depends on how many people you are making it for...and I am always having to add more liquid because my blender isn't the best}

-Frozen berries

-Frozen mangos

-Handful of spinach

-coconut water

-banana

-unsalted creamy peanut-butter

-almond milk

-1 or 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup

-frozen banana

-handful of spinach

-frozen peaches

-frozen pineapples

-banana

-coconut water and/or almond milk

At the last minute, a neighbor of mine asked me to attend an 

open house/girls night at her home.

A few of her friends would be selling products...

This was the first time I've ever attended something like that!

It was so much fun to meet new people, and share my products with others in my own community.

The "What if" Game

Throughout the week, there are always times when I brainstorm different blog topics...

usually when I'm on a walk with Brandi, or on a run, or laying in bed...

when things are quite, computers aren't open and I have time to think.

Lately, this has been on my mind...

Over the last few months of really trying to get Lindsay P Designs out there,

I've had to step out of my comfort zone and set aside any fear. 

I hit the green call button or click "send" on my email and hold my breath.

I get so dang nervous...so so easily

but slowly I've been learning to believe in my products and myself for that matter! 

The exciting anticipation that should come with putting yourself out there,

are often clouded by fears of rejection and the "what ifs."

What if they think it's dumb?

 What if they say no?

 what if...what if...what if...

But what if they say YES!

 What if they say that is the exact product we've been looking for!

I've found that if I become paralyzed by all of the "what if's" I may be missing out on the best opportunity yet.

weekend, celebrating Easter and it's true meaning!

Table Settings

I adore pretty table settings.

Elaborate ones or simple ones

outdoors or indoors.

It seems that with each season or holiday

table settings seem to come to mind.

Which is actually quite funny since Brian and I typically 

sit on the couch these days to eat dinner....

{because often times fabric, scissors, and a sewing machine covers our table! :)}

I imagine the day when I have a dining room table with friends and family over, and all of the little touches I can add.

Pretty runners, candles, flowers, and place settings.

But for now, setting up simple little tables for apron photo shoots are just as fun.

Surprise Visit

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

It was an unexpectedly eventful and perfect weekend with a 

surprise visit from my family Thursday night!

After doing a couple double takes and being in total shock as my parents 

casually drove into our drive way...

I was taken aback again when I saw two young girls with a stroller walking up the hill...

then I realized it was my sisters and sweet niece!

.....

Though the trip was short and sweet it was so great to visit and just be together.

We went on a long walk with pretty views 

and went to one of our favorite winery's, VJB Cellars.

I love this place particularly because you can sit outside 

on the patio with a glass of wine and order a pizza 

or another snack and just relax

So peaceful!

.....

Yesterday we wished Brandi a Happy 3rd Birthday!

complete with a new toy, treats, and nice long walk!!

.....

close it down and find inspiration in your own ideas

Don't give up

if the perfect idea isn't coming to you, take a break and don't give up on yourself

Make a list 

set a timer and allow yourself to write every thought and idea that pops into your head. 

.....

Bounce your ideas off with other creative people

.....

Exercise!

.....

Just go with it!

It's okay to mess up. If you have an idea...try it out!

Listen to Music

find those tunes that get your mind twirling

A New Charity!

For the last three months, Lindsay P Designs has been donating to
 Fisher House Foundation

and it is now time to switch charities!

I am anxious to share this particular charity with you all

as it hits close to home and family.

This post is about hope, encouragement, strength, and an unbelievably positive attitude.

Just a couple months ago my sweet and beautiful 13 year old cousin began losing her hair
 and was diagnosed with Alopecia. A disease that causes complete hair loss.
.....
What has amazed me, and I know so many others, is her attitude to keep going...
to continue smiling constantly
to continue dancing with a big heart with her closest friends
 and to not let this speed bump stop her from being who she is.
Simply put...it is amazing....she is amazing!
She has hope, confidence and a beautiful heart. 
It is so admirable.
