I don't know about everywhere else but here...

it is starting to feel a lot like Fall..especially in the mornings..

And I have to admit I am looking forward to it!

Tomato soup, warm pumpkin bread, boots and sweaters

I am ready!

It's hard to believe most schools are back in full swing too

Is it just me or does it seem like summers have become shorter and shorter.

I remember growing up thinking Summer took up half the year.

(I don't think that was ever the case....)

I am busy getting my orders from the show all together and sending them out! Cards and aprons have officially taken over our entire house.

Seattle Gift Show and American Made Contest

It has been a while since I have last posted!

I returned last week from Seattle after visiting my family and attending the 

Seattle Gift Show!!
.....

The show was wonderful...

I went into it with an open mind and more than anything, was hoping to gain knowledge and feedback on my products.

The people I met there were so kind and really gave me a lot of tips and advice which I SO much appreciated! And the feedback I received was great!

Of course I am thrilled to have my aprons and cards in a few more shops :)

I was very happy with the way my booth turned out which I could not have accomplished without the help of my parents...they were my life savers!

This was my beautiful (I say that sarcastically) rough drawing of what I was envisioning....

Off to Seattle!

Brian and I spent the weekend with his family for his grandpa's 85th birthday.

It was so special for the families to be together to just catch up and laugh.

I talked to his grandpa who is a quick witted, loving man, about the importance of 

laughter and positivity in life. 

.....

What a wonderful thing to hear from someone who has lived through a lot 

and continues to follow this motto. 

It's refreshing and encouraging.

.....

My bags are all packed and I'm off to sunny Seattle today!

I'm sure going to miss these two...

 but can't wait to see my family, meet my sweet new niece and of course...

attend the Seattle Gift Show!! 

I'll post a lot of pictures and a recap next week.

My New Favorite Iced Coffee

The past couple weeks I have been attempting to try a dairy free diet. I am convinced it will clear my face up and it is actually working believe it or not

I realized that dairy is something I would have almost everyday.

Coffee with creamer in the morning...

Crackers and cheese in the afternoon...

Yogurt and granola...

It was an epiphany when I realized that THAT could be the common denominator!

.....

So the other day when I was craving iced coffee, I came up with this little combo which was quite delicious.

I thought I would share...

Introducing my Iced Almond Latte

-Iced Coffee

-A tiny dash of almond extract (a little goes a long way)

-Spoonful of sugar (or spoon in a half if you're feeling risky)

-Sprinkle of cinnamon

-Splash of Almond Milk

(notice I didn't really measure anything out precisely)

Book Review

If you want a book that is laugh-out-loud funny and is also a quick read

I strongly suggest Mindy Kaling's, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?

I thought it was hilarious

I kept saying to Brian, "Oh Brian listen to this!"

Of course I was never fully able to convey how funny the book was without making him sit down and read the whole book...

which I obviously did not do (though I wanted to).

.....

I love her new show, The Mindy Project, and am always cracking up when I watch it..

 so it wasn't any surprise to me that the book was funny.

Some people just aren't fans of her I suppose....maybe from her Kelly Kapoor, Office Days? 

In her book she seems like a normal, non-celebrity type of person which I appreciate.

{My 1 Disclaimer: There is some swearing but nothing outrageous}

None the less, it was nice reading more this weekend than I watched tv...

Peaceful and relaxing in a busy time..
